Welcome to my website
My main claim to fame is my long career in Geriatric Medicine. In recent years, in my semi-retirement (I now only work seven days a week) I have focussed on my passion, the management of dementia in all settings, although I still dabble in General Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine. I am equally passionate about social justice and social issues and have been known to express myself forcefully. I am, however, renowned for my tact and diplomacy... |
My book, 'Dementia is Different', has just been published by Australian Scholarly Publishing Pty Ltd and will be launched in July 2018.
It is deliberately not a 'text book' because I had serious things to say to a wide audience - this includes not just medical practitioners and other health professionals, but also anyone from any background with an interest in dementia and its management. This latter group includes patients and their partners, relatives, and carers. The book is a blend of biography, a guide to the care of people affected by dementia and a challenge to current orthodoxy. |
After I submitted my book manuscript, I could not stop writing. It is an obsession that cannot be ignored. I have a great need to share my continuing thoughts and insights on dementia with a wider audience - hence a blog! |
